Kenny Dalglish expects captain Steven Gerrard and goalkeeper Pepe Reina to be fit for Liverpool's opening game of the season.
Reina, meanwhile, underwent a double hernia operation last month and has also sat out Liverpool's pre-season trip which takes in China, Malaysia and Singapore.
However, Reds boss Dalglish is not concerned that the influential duo will be unavailable when the new Premier League season kicks off against Sunderland
If Gerrard and Riena are fit for the opening game it will be a real big boost for the Reds.
But should one or niether of them be fit. It could have a really big factor on thier season.
For instance; The first game of the season is going to be a big one, not just for the Reds but all teams in the premier league, as it will be a really big confidence boost and teams can kick on from the three points gained.
But should teams fail to secure the first three points of what looks to be a very competative year. It could be a really big blow and teams fighting for the top spots are three points behind, therefore playing catch up straight away.
