Arsene feels the fans pain.
The Arsenal fans who endured the misery of Sunday's 8-2 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford will be offered the cost of another away ticket.
Manager Arsene Wenger and his inexperienced team were widely criticised for their showing on the pitch, but the travelling support gained widespread praise for backing the players.
The North London club have confirmed they would be offering to compensate the supporters who made the trip by paying for a ticket for another away game.
"Arsenal football club has announced it will be writing to fans who travelled to Old Trafford on Sunday with an offer to cover the cost of a match ticket at a future Barclays Premier League away game," read a club statement.
"Sunday's result was obviously disappointing for everyone connected with the club. Our travelling fans were magnificent throughout and we want to recognise their fantastic support. We will be writing to them shortly with the details."
The club are not offering to pay for the travel costs for the away game of their choice.
This is not the first time a football club have taken such action following a hammering.
Wigan's players clubbed together to refund the costs of every away fan who travelled to Tottenham to see their team humbled 9-1 at White Hart Lane two years ago.
German side Energie Cottbus refunded 600 fans the cost of their trip to Schalke after seeing their team lose 4-0 in what the club described as a "pitiful performance".

Moyes not ruling out sales
Everton manager David Moyes has not ruled out player sales before the transfer window closes due to their financial position.
Even if the club did sell some of their better players to raise funds then that cash would only go to paying off bank debts.
Arsenal have been linked with a swap deal involving Mikel Arteta and Nicklas Bendtner, although Everton are not interested in the transfer.
Moyes is keen to retain all his star players, but concedes that everyone has his price and accepts the club could not reject 'big' bids.
"I think it's already been said that the money, depending on the value, would go to the bank," he told the Liverpool Echo.
"Everybody's got a price - Fabregas, Ronaldo, you name it. If anyone bids big enough I'm sure we'd take it. I'm not daft."
Everton could raid the loan market to add numbers before Thursday and Moyes is not ruling out the possibility of borrowing a player.
On the possibility of any loan signings, Moyes added: "I don't expect it. Will it happen? Who knows?"

Espanyol agree Weiss deal
Espanyol have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Vladimir Weiss on a season-long loan, while fellow Blues youngster Loris Karius is on his way to Mainz.
But it is Espanyol who have now announced that a deal is in place for Weiss to spend the remainder of the 2011/12 Primera Liga campaign in Spain.
"Espanyol and Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle for the loan of Vladimir Weiss for one season," read an Espanyol statement.
Weiss travelled to Barcelona on Monday morning in a bid to put the finishing touches on the switch.
If all goes to plan and the deal goes through, Weiss, who will link up with Slovakia for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers against Republic of Ireland and Armenia, will be presented next week following his international commitments.
Weiss is not the only City player on his way out of the club on loan, with highly-rated goalkeeper Karius to join Mainz in Germany until December.
The 18-year-old is under contract with City until next summer but has yet to make the breakthrough into the first team and will now have a chance to press for more regular action in the Bundesliga.
"Loris Karius is one of the most talented goalkeepers of Germany," Mainz general manager Christian Heidel told his club's official website.
"We have been monitoring him for a while and when we met he left a very good impression on us.
"We have put up a loan arrangement with Manchester City in the meantime and I feel this loan is a win-win situation for us as a club as well as for the player."

Sorry to all our followers
We would like to say a big sorry to our followers for not posting for a while.
We have enhanced our systems and had a few teething problems (as you do) but we are up and running again.
We hope you have enjoyed the start of the season as much as we have. Many things have happened with regards to transfers.
As you all know by now, Cesc Fabrigas has left Arsenal (not a real shock really, as everyone knew he would leave at some point) Nasri to Man City, and of course Aguero to City respectively.
But the two players who have so far been a cut above the rest has to be Luis Suarez of Liverpool, and David Silva of Man City. Both have really been amazing so far.
We will post our news as from tomorrow ok pps.

Aquaman happy to stay at the reds.
Italian ace Alberto Aquilani has insisted he is more than happy to stay with Liverpool.
Kenny Dalglish has suggested the 27-year-old could still have a role to play with the Reds, and the former Roma star admits he does feel wanted at Anfield.
After scoring the winner for his country against Spain on Wednesday, Aquilani confirmed that staying at Liverpool was very much an option for him.
"All I can say is that there has been a lot of talk," he said.
"I wasn't following the Italian media much over the summer, but whatever happens I am at a great club like Liverpool.
"I'd love to make my mark at Liverpool. The transfer market is open until August 31, so we'll see what happens.
"Obviously I would take the offer of a permanent move into consideration with Liverpool."

Gunners want Dann
Arsenal have opened preliminary talks with Birmingham over a possible move for defender Scott Dann.
Dann is widely expected to leave St Andrews during the transfer window in the wake of the Blues' relegation from the top-flight on the final day of last season.
The imposing centre-back formed an impressive partnership with Roger Johnson before an untimely injury in January curtailed his campaign and contributed to the club's eventual demotion.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is known to be keen to strengthen his defence having seen their hopes of silverware undermined last season by deficiencies at the back.
And the Emirates Stadium outfit have held initial discussions with the St Andrews club over bringing the 24-year-old to North London.
A host of Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Stoke have all been linked with the former Walsall and Coventry man this summer.
But it now appears that Arsenal have jumped to the head of the queue for the player who moved to Birmingham in a £3.5million deal in the summer of 2009.
Wenger is likely to have funds to invest in the transfer market with captain Cesc Fabregas expected to complete his multi-million pound return to Barcelona in the coming days.

Reds agree fee for Enrique
Liverpool have agreed a fee with Newcastle for Jose Enrique.
The 25-year-old has made it clear he does not want to extend his current contract at St James' Park, which has just one year left.
A number of clubs had been linked, but Liverpool were always reportedly in pole position and now they have made their move.
It is understood that a fee of £6million has been agreed between the two clubs and Enrique will now travel to Merseyside for a medical.
Newcastle will now be left hunting for a new left-back although they have already expressed an interest in PSV Eindhoven's Erik Pieters.

Hesky Impresses his new manager
Emile Heskey has been assured by new manager Alex McLeish that he still has a major role to play at Aston Villa this season.
Darren Bent's January arrival pushed Heskey down the pecking order for the second half of last term and he was linked with a move back to his first club, Leicester, during the early part of the summer.
However, McLeish is happy to retain the services of a player in the final year of his current contract and says he would be foolish not to make use of the former England international's vast experience.
McLeish said: "Emile's experience is phenomenal. He has enormous experience.
"He has played for England, he has played for several top managers over the years so he has learnt a lot.
"Discarding his kind of knowledge and his skills would be crazy. I have to tap into a guy like that. I have to use him to the full.
"There is no guarantee that Emile will play every week - but he has certainly impressed me."

Spurs Vs Everton game called off
Tottenham's game with Everton this weekend has been postponed due to the rioting in London earlier this week.
Scudamore confirmed that the Metropolitan Police could not hand back Tottenham High Road in time for the council to complete a clean-up operation, which means the game cannot go ahead - but he is confident the other nine matches will take place as planned.
"The very latest situation is that we know that we are going to lose the Tottenham-Everton game," Scudamore said.
"In fairness to the police they have done a fantastic job, but they are unable to hand Tottenham High Road back to the council until Friday night and that is late enough to get a safety certificate in time.
"The other nine fixtures are looking positive and by 6pm tonight we should have a clear picture, but at the moment it looks like nine will be on.
"Obviously full credit to the police and we respect their decision and ultimately it will be their decision and we respect their decision and support them, they want these to go ahead as much as we do but obviously it is inevitable that if they can't go on that we support them."
Tottenham also announced the news with a statement on their official website, which read: "Following ongoing discussions with the necessary authorities regarding this weekend's Premier League home match against Everton, it has now been confirmed that this fixture will be postponed due to safety concerns relating to infrastructure of the High Road and access to the stadium caused by last Saturday's riots.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused to supporters due to matters outside of the control of the club. We shall update fans on when this fixture will be rearranged in due course."

There was plenty of evidence of Manchester United's new generation at Wembley on Sunday. With Paul Scholes and Gary Neville retired, Ashley Young, Nani and Chris Smalling provided a glimpse of the future.
Here, Peter Fraser considers the five players who produced the most impressive performances in the season curtain-raiser, when United came from two goals down to claim a 3-2 injury-time victory.
Chris Smalling (7/10)
At 6ft 4in, the former Fulham centre-half is far from a natural right-back, but he performed the role as if he was a seasoned veteran. Smalling was even prepared to attack down the flanks and his back-heeled, flicked turn on Micah Richards in the second half was one that brought flashbacks of Cristiano Ronaldo. There is even an argument to suggest that Smalling could start the season at right-back, such was the impressive level of his performance both in defence and in attack. The 21-year-old's goal was a turning point.
Nani (8/10)
When he spent the opening minutes failing to control the ball and making a mess of shots, it appeared the Portuguese was ready for one of his frustrating days. But Nani seems to consistently be fulfilling his potential. His 18 assists were a vital ingredient of United's Premier League title success last season, but it was his goals that proved decisive at Wembley. His first was the finishing touch to a sublime team move involving build-up from Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck and the effective Wayne Rooney. His second was as important as the first was picturesque.
Ashley Young (7/10)
The England international is clearly determined to prove that he can become a star at the highest level. It has been questioned whether Young has the mentality to fulfil his potential, but he provided the complete performance against City. The ex-Aston Villa wide-man was a constant source of kinetic energy and a permanent out-ball for United. Young's timing and decision-making were close to perfection when opting to hug the touchline or cut inside. His set-piece delivery was also radar-accurate for Smalling's important first goal.
Joleon Lescott (7/10)
The City defender finished last season in fine form and, although he made a nervy start against United, he continued to impress. The centre-back looked anxious from kick-off and was at times chasing shadows amid the movement of Rooney and company in the opening minutes. But his goal was taken like a natural and he settled down after that moment. Lescott went on to save City with two well-timed tackles, particularly on Rooney, in the second half. Ultimately, he was let down by Vincent Kompany's uncharacteristic error
David Silva (7/10)
The Spaniard looks like he is going to be a superstar this season, having settled into life at City in the last campaign. Silva was Roberto Mancini's most dangerous player against United, as he drifted off the flanks and displayed brilliant vision and execution of pass. The former Valencia man is City's smartest attacking player and a first-half ball which dissected the United defence was only lacking a suitable finish from James Milner. Silva also provided Lescott's goal with a perfect cross.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech believes it is hard to tell who will make Andre Villas Boas' first team of the season this weekend.

Stoke City v Chelsea
- August 14, 2011 1:00pm
That was against Rangers in a 3-1 win on Saturday, as new manager Villas-Boas rotated the squad from the previous 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
Cech has started the majority of the pre-season games, but believes everyone has been given a chance.
He told his official website: "I think it's fair to say that each player was given more or less the same amount of time to impress, but it's hard to say who will be in the starting line-up against Stoke.
"Looking at who started on Saturday you cannot tell and the coaches still have this week to pick the best 11 players.
"We are glad to have won the last friendly too. In pre-season we won all fixtures and that is good for our psyche."

Arsene Wenger insists there is 'no major problem' with Samir Nasri amid reports the midfielder could leave Arsenal before the start of the season.
Manchester United saw a bid for the France international rejected earlier this summer, while local rivals City have subsequently emerged as favourites to sign Nasri.
Captain Cesc Fabregas' future at Arsenal is also uncertain and Wenger recently called on the influential duo to show their commitment to the club.
The Gunners start the new Premier League season away to Newcastle United on Saturday and there have been claims that Fabregas and Nasri could both leave before the trip to St James' Park.
Speculation has also suggested that Fabregas and Nasri have been looking gloomy in training as Wenger tries to hang on to the pair.
But, speaking after a 2-1 friendly defeat by Benfica at the weekend, Wenger stressed there is no row with Nasri.
Wenger said in the Daily Express: "I cannot speak about it but there is no major problem between Samir and myself."

Tottenham Hotspur are pushing ahead with a move for Lassana Diarra. Harry Redknapp is a confirmed fan of the 26-year-old France international, who is on the fringes of Jose Mourinho's first-team squad at Real.
Spurs have made a move for Diarra, and are hopeful of agreeing terms with Real.
Diarra already has extensive experience of English football, having featured for Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth before his move to Spain in 2009.
Diarra has been linked with moves across Europe, but is reported to have told Real he would only consider a move back to England.
